Hey Friends, The Pod Is Back!
Introducing Love To See It, and talking about what this launch means for Rich Text. (Spoiler alert: Not a whole lot!)
What is Love To See It?
Love To See It with Emma and Claire is the new home for our Bachelor and Bachelor-adjacent content! We’re partnering with Stitcher to bring back the show as a weekly podcast -- no more off-season, just an endless font of Bachelor recaps, interviews, gossip grab-bags and coverage of other dating shows. As always, we’ll bring on our favorite comedians, writers, Bachelor alums, and more to recap with us and share behind-the-scenes insight. The show is kicking off with Katie’s Bachelorette season, which premieres on Monday, June 7.
Well, that sounds cool. How do I find it?
If you subscribed to Here To Make Friends, you will find it on the same feed and should start getting the new episodes in your feed without taking any further action. If not, subscribe now on Stitcher or wherever you get your podcasts! (We’re on Apple Podcasts, Spotify and other major podcast platforms.)
What is the first episode and when is it dropping?
The first episode will be out Friday June 4th at midnight! It’s a welcome to the new pod, but more importantly, it’s the CAST BIOS EPISODE. We give Katie’s 29 dudes (and 1 gift-wrapped box) a thorough once-over.
A few themes from this batch of men: hiding the heart of a hopeless romantic beneath a staggeringly shredded abdomen, handwritten love letters, leaving a legacy through business ownership, being 26 years old, and participation in high-level college or professional sports. Bonus: we discuss what a “bloodgasm” would be!
What does that all mean for Rich Text?
We’re not going anywhere! This Substack will continue to be the home for audio chats about non-Bachelor-adjacent TV content -- like our episodes about Olivia Rodrigo, “Cruel Summer,” “Mare of Easttown,” and Laura Hankin’s novel A Special Place For Women -- as well as a space for writing about the personal, the cultural and the political. We plan to continue our schedule of (loosely) twice-weekly newsletters, and we hope to continue expanding and refining what we do here.
If you have things you’d like to see us talk about or write about, let us know!
Basically, if you’ve enjoyed what you’ve seen and heard on here, you will continue to get content in your inbox that you will hopefully enjoy just as much. We are dedicated to this newsletter in both audio and text formats. And we will continue keeping it an ad-free, reader-supported space.
But I only signed up for Bachelor recaps!
We get it! If you don’t want to continue supporting the newsletter now that our Bachelor recaps will once again be living elsewhere, we completely understand, and we’re grateful for your support during this bumpy transition.
Because so many of you subscribed during a time when our Bachelor content, such as it was, was published here, we realize that this is a real change. It’s a change for us, too, and it’s prompted us to revisit our initial plans for this newsletter, which we launched all the way back in January.
Specifically, the price. The subscription cost was not something we put much thought into, back when this newsletter was a tiny venture -- a hobby, really. We were grateful for every subscription, and we also didn’t have very many! Now that the reach is greater, and the scope of our project here has been altered by the relaunch of the podcast, we’re thinking more about accessibility and pricing. We’ve decided on two changes:
We’re changing the monthly subscription price to $6 and the annual price to $70. If you haven’t already subscribed, you can do so here.
And…
If you want a premium subscription and you can’t afford it, contact us directly and we will gift you the subscription.
You can reach us at claireandemmapod@gmail.com.
We don’t want this newsletter to be out of reach or a financial strain for anyone. (It is also, right now, the main way we support ourselves -- so, again, we’re very grateful to every paid subscriber! It not only means the world to us, but it also quite literally helps us pay our bills.)
We hope you’ll check out Love To See It! And we’ll be back here next week.
xo
