I’m 63 and met my partner on a 50+ dating app last year. I had gone through a very hurtful divorce and was ready to get out there again. But the pickings seemed slim in FL for a professional, liberal woman my age, so after a few bad dates I was about to delete the app. And then this cute Jewish doctor with a great smile popped up on my phone screen …and 10 months later we’re loving partners, have met each other’s kids and grandkids, and see our future years together. So it can happen anytime, meet cute or not. ❤️
Love this, put such a grin on my face! I met my now husband of 3.5 months on Hinge, which yes not so meet cute but as we got to know each other we discovered many A Sliding Doors moment over the past decade of our lives that made it feel extra meant to be. Congrats Emma! ❣️
I actually teared up reading this! I love this so much, and so happy for you and Adam to celebrate your love and embark on the exciting next part of your *life* story together!
I love this so much! I particularly love the inset of the first things you guys said to each other on Hinge. I met my husband on Tinder in December 2014. I'd written in my bio that I loved books by Jon Krakauer and the first thing my now-husband said to me was "Hey Chloe! It's me, Jon Krakauer" and I wrote back ":::swoon:::" We proceeded to text for nearly two hours with him pretending to be Jon Krakauer and me pretending to believe him. Met for the first time December 27, 2014. A year later, on December 27, 2015, he gave me a framed copy of a screenshot he'd taken of those first words. We ended up getting married on December 27 a few years later. When we bought our house together, that framed photo was the first things we hung on our walls. When we were evacuated from our home because of the LA fires earlier this month, that framed photo was one of the first things we packed. It's been ten years and I still get misty looking at it <3
I too met my long term boyfriend on an app and yes, it’s not an exciting, whimsical answer but it was funny, after dating a few months we realized we had a mutual friend and were actually at the same small event together a few months before we met. However, I was sequestered with my friend group and he with his (DC really is a small town). Just because you met on an app doesn’t mean there still isn’t some serendipity or really the most exciting parts of your relationship happens ~after~ you meet 💕 Also I like to ask the question-what about their profile made you swipe/message?
I love this story so much. I met my partner on OKCupid in 2017 and distinctly can envision the time that I swiped right on his t-shirt tuxedo wearing default profile pic. Our first date was super cute and we stayed for 4 hours chatting and laughing and…missing my grocery delivery. We moved in together a month later and were married the end of the following year. Wishing you and Adam a lovely wedding and for the love of needing something to fall down the rabbit hole with, please share pics! 💕
It was meant to be for sure! I wonder if y’all would’ve hit it off as well if you had gone on a date 7 years earlier. Or maybe there really is something to the whole “wrong time, right person” thing. So happy you both found each other eventually though. ❤️
Can this be a book? I could’ve read 200 more pages. Loved it 🩷

oh we absolutely would not have hit it off as well seven years earlier lol -- I think we both needed those years separately!
