You are the BEST!!!! I would only amend your suggestion to say make calls to all your representatives - Senators, House. State AG for extra credit especially if you’re in a blue state. Think of calling as our form of protest in this perilous time!!

Thank you! I am a DC resident so I have no representation to call on. I know everything has come at once on purpose so besides the horrifying takeover of Treasury, it is important to extend that outrage to the illegal shutdown of USAID and illegal firings of the Inspectors General!!

There are so many things coming at once! So much, including USAID, comes back to Musk taking over the power of payment. We have to keep calling or showing up.

I found Hillary Kelly’s Substack about what she’s doing as a DC resident helpful as well: https://open.substack.com/pub/hillarykelly/p/stop-reading?r=573e&utm_medium=ios

There is a certain kind of power in proximity, for those who are able.

Hi there - always love your updates. I work in state government and am closely scrutinizing what I read and what is shared with me, so whatever I say accurately reflects the current reality. I may be wrong, but I think there are inaccuracies in the Indivisible website you shared or that it’s written in a way that could easily be misunderstood. “The Human Cost” section looks like it’s either out of date or what I THINK they did is present FUTURE risks that are not yet active, but they wrote some of them in present tense. Super confusing. For example, it says school meal programs “are halted” in present tense. While they are at risk and that is to be determined, at this moment, school meal programs are still serving free lunch. If someone calls and says lunches are currently frozen, they will sound ill informed. Just want to flag. My work is federally funded and potentially on the chopping block, so I’ve been paying close attention to what is accurate and not (which changes day to day) so as to not cause alarm. I know it’s really hard to keep track. Read things closely, everyone, before jumping to a conclusion and causing outsized panic. It’s all frightening but it’s important to not jeopardize your credibility as a consumer of news.
