The Studio is sooo good. The second episode stressed me out but I loved it!
I’m obsessed with 831 Stories. I think their books are really well written and it’s fun to have access to the merch. Comedic Timing is my favorite so far!
I think the part of the 831 stories pitch that I find personally most disquieting is the monetization/commodification of fan fiction. An official fan fiction page is, frankly, anathema to the history of fic pushing the boundaries of fair use — I am always wary of corporations OR fic authors themselves attempting to monetize the fruits of this labor of love. Additionally, an ao3 link as part of this package is painfully ironic — ao3 was created bc of corporations and authors targeting fan creators whose interpretations they didn’t approve of. Ao3 is a non-profit, with its own legal team and advocacy arm that argue for the value of transformative works, and the site is structured in such a way as to make monetization difficult. What happens when that ao3 link leads to fic that is too dark or weird or queer for 831 stories’ or the authors’ approval?
(…..sorry for the wall of text, this is one of my pet subjects)
Yeah, I wonder how aware Ao3 is of 813, they’re usually pretty with it, and I suspect have a lot more legal behind them than readers think, but it would also go against their mission of creative freedom to tell 813 they couldn’t link…Hopefully if 813 readers are unhappy they take it back to 813 and not Ao3.

I feel like Emma and I had very similar college music tastes, because as soon as I saw Voxtrot here I got SO EXCITED 🤣. This is great!
Hahaha that's actually mine!
Omg sorry, then we have the same music tastes Claire and this is an excellent EP! 🤣
Yes it's such a lovely throwback!
