Unrelated, I just finished watching Pilot Pete's season for the first time, and went back and listened to Emma and Leigh's Here to Make Friends recaps as I went. Your recaps were really fun; his season not so much!

At a professional development event this year, a keynote “expert” on AI in writing noted that we should not be calling the made-up info the tech creates “hallucinations” because this ascribes a human quality to the tech, which we do not want to do. It’s not human, does not have emotions, etc, but users can forget this strikingly quickly when using the tech. Apparently this push to not ascribe humanizing qualities to the tech can help us as we understand it better. I just wanted to point this out, not necessarily sure where I even fall on this debate, but we are all learning so much about it that I know sharing what we know is most important right now. And I also understand Claire was responding to a NYTimes article that called them hallucinations (I haven’t seen that article).
I understand this. And yet, I will continue to say please and thank you during my rare interactions with AI, in the hopes they’ll take pity on me during the rise of the machines.
Haha love how APUSH always runs out of time and rushes through the 20th century. Basically Reagan and his people secretly sold weapons to Iran which was super illegal and also def not on our friend list, and used the secret money to fund anti socialist pro authoritarians the contras in Nicaragua. Oh and only one guy took the fall and Reagan convinced people he and his people had no idea and was totally clean and everyone forgot about it. IMO it’s as bad and other ways worse than Watergate. So much stuff gets breezed over in the late 20th century-like Nixon full on ruined LBJ’s peace talks in Vietnam! Just so he could be the one to end it when he was President!!
